Wecome to the Rainbow Gallery!
After running a southwest/far east gallery in a charming small artist town in Bavaria for 15 years the German artist couple, Astrid and Turan Zunnun, started touring the southwest states with their two kids in the 90s. "Don't miss Sedona, if you go to Arizona" a dear friend reminded them. They didn’t miss it, and since '99 they have been living and creating in Sedona - running their art gallery for 5 years. Now they are running a home-based artist work shop.
An excerpt from KUDOS, a Sedona local paper, writes about Astrid and Turan:
Astrid has an instinct for creating striking color combinations in her pieces, which may include citron greens and purples with a red accent, or more subdued monochromatics. However, the stunning colors are all natural and she grinds stones herself.
Turan began woodworking in Germany, where he apprenticed with a friend who specialized in restoring old farmhouses. The custom cabinets he shows in the gallery are pieces of functional sculpture, created with ingenuity and sensitivity for the natural grains and patterns of the various woods used. |
